WAIT...
HMM... → WAIT A SECOND... → TOUCHÉ.
WAIT... begins with an irritation. Three autonomous artworks form a visual movement of thought. Information appears across different works and perceptual layers. Each work stands on its own. And yet, something seems to continue beyond it.
A code waits to be deciphered. A complete word waits to be found. And separate pieces of information begin to speak to one another. What first appears independent gradually forms a connection. The viewer sees. Searches. Remembers. Combines.
The titles accompany this process like the script of an inner monologue: HMM... WAIT A SECOND... TOUCHÉ. The answer is there. But it has to be constructed. It emerges in the viewer’s mind.
MOVE I
HMM...
A fragment. A code offers information without revealing its context.
The first thought begins.
MOVE II
WAIT A SECOND...
A word appears complete. Yet its meaning is not the only thing that matters.
The eye begins to look beyond the word.
MOVE III
TOUCHÉ.
Another fragment. What seemed separate can now be connected.
The connection emerges in thought.
RESEARCH & CONTEXT
Each CASE is followed by an independent research process examining its conceptual structure in relation to art history, theory and relevant fields of knowledge. The research is conducted after the development of the works and serves to contextualize, test and challenge their conceptual claims through precedent research and falsification.
